It can best be described as cross-country skiing without skis (or snow!). Just like walking, it's an activity that everyone can try. In fact, the use of poles involves 85% of all muscles but reduces the load on knees and other joints and the physical effort required is also reduced by 30%. When compared to traditional jogging, there's a 46% increase in energy consumption and it burns up to 40% more calories.
